    Bathroom Trends

WHEN YOU THINK OF DESIGNING YOUR DREAM BATHROOM, DO YOU envision a white vanity, bathtub/shower combination, standard toilet bowl and the traditional cold tile floors? Now you can break out of the typical bathroom design mold. Why not transform your bath into the ultimate room for rejuvenation? As customers become more design savvy and companies respond, bathroom suites are becoming an extension of the bedroom as a place to get a little R&R.

Custom cabinetry and countertops are now replacing plain vanities to give bathrooms as much detail as other rooms in the home. Modern sinks can either mirror the old washing basins from decades ago or establish themselves as modern elliptical art forms, while toilets and bathtubs are designed to look nothing like your typical privy. As master bath square footages grow to include dual sinks and multiple closets, it’s time you consider dressing this room as nicely as the other rooms in your home. After all, the bathroom could easily turn into your everyday oasis.

Designing your own bathroom suite is easier than ever ,thanks to companies designing entire bathroom products in a series. To eliminate any guesswork when coordinating a bathroom, Kohler offers a variety of suite designs that not only include faucets and toilets, but also include matching bathrobe hooks and sink fixtures. One of their newest products in the Purist suite collection is the Hatbox® Comfort Height™ Toilet. Completely innovative, the Purist Hatbox makes a design statement in the home, with its tankless Power Lite™ technology that provides exceptional flushing performance. The Comfort Height™ bowl and Quiet-Close™ toilet seat ensure comfort and hygiene, and also create a modern appearance for your bathroom.

If you like the idea of mixing and matching the newest, most contemporary designs, the planning becomes a little more involved, but is also more exciting. Fresh from the drawing boards, Jacuzzi has announced a new initiative named Morphosis® that includes a series of three whirlpool baths designed in conjunction with Pininfarina, legendary for their Ferrari car designs. Sleek and stylish, the Morphosis® Gamma whirl-pool changes the look of a typical bathtub forever. As a corner tub, the Gamma offers the space to enjoy a multi-sensational experience. Featuring six chromatherapy lights, eight back-massage jets and four fully adjustable Thera-Pro™ jets, the Gamma enables you to bring the spa experience into the comfort of your own bathroom.

And just when you thought the pleasurable bath experience ended as soon as the water is off, you can now imagine the luxury of stepping onto a warm floor when getting out of the shower. Nuheat™ has designed a heated floor system that includes an Energy Star®-approved programmable floor-sensing thermostat. Available under tile, stone, marble and now engineered wood and laminate flooring, the Nuheat™ radiant flooring systems are quiet, cost-efficient and make your home more comfortable to live in. No more cold tile floors!

When designing your dream bathroom, it’s important to think about the function of each of the products. The style and appearance of the products are crucial design elements, however product function outweighs appearance in the long run. The new pullout faucet by Price Pfister® integrates style with performance in an elegant manner. Conceived to simplify grooming and cleaning tasks, the pullout spray is incorporated into the faucet’s aerator, offering the same functionality and convenience that has been popular in kitchen faucets for nearly a decade. With four different spray and steam options, the pullout faucet makes cleaning toothpaste out of the sink a cinch!

To make the most of your bathroom suite, consider installing a tranquil entryway that prompts relaxation as soon as you walk through the door. The privacy door from Signamark™ stylishly combines beauty with performance to create a soothing entry into your bathroom. Known for their tempered safety glass, these interior doors provide privacy while bringing visual openness to the bathroom. The quiet, safe and easy-to-clean privacy doors are available in multiple sizes and three different stain finishes. The bathroom no longer needs to be a place for quick showers and brief primping, but rather a place to restore your body before and after each day. Whether it is a relaxing bath before bed or taking a few more minutes to get dressed, the bathroom is soon to be a room you’ll never want to leave.
