Introducing Reality Home Building
 Designer Dream Homes magazine is introducing a recurring feature called Reality Home Building, in which we will follow a family as they build their home from start to finish. Each Reality series will consist of three articles including multiple photos of the house under construction, plus interviews with the family and the builder.
Our first Reality Home Building Family is The Sanders family. They have contracted 1st Choice Custom Homes to build the Greywell plan by Frank Betz Associates on a beautiful wooded lot overlooking the Saluda River, about 15 minutes outside of Greenville, SC. The Sanders' are relocating to South Carolina after living in Florida for the past several years. Scott & Vanessa Sanders both grew up in SC and are happy to be "coming home." Scott owns a corporate recruiting firm and will be working from an office in their new home. Vanessa will also be spending a lot of time in their new abode, as she stays quite busy home schooling and caring for their three children, Charlotte - age 5, Elliot - age 2, and Caroline - 4 mos. Scott and Vanessa have already developed a great relationship with Brad & Cindy Thompson, owners of 1st Choice Custom Homes - who coincidentally will also be their neighbors, as they built a Betz home of their own in the same neighborhood last summer.
The first installment of the Sanders' story will be published in the December 2007 issue of Designer Dream Homes Magazine, on newsstands November 6th, 2007.
